Dance College offering Bachelor Degree in California

Dance College offering Bachelor Degree in California?
My girlfriend is having a lot of trouble looking for a Dance College in California that she could go. She didn't go to college right the way after high school because she didn't have good grades. Now she has decided to major in dance but she doesn't have what it takes to go to any UC or CSU, and she doesn't want to spend years in community college to transfer since she has wasted enough time already. Are there any college that don't really look at your grade and offers a decent bachelors in dance?

Answer 1 :
all colleges require an official copy of your schools transcripts. her grades will always follow her. unless you say that you never attended any college,....therefore she will have no transcripts.... she could write about why she bombed out and how she realized the importance of higher education and is now dedicated to learning....... all college look at your grades. as far as degree in dance, search reference material "the guide to american university" of similar title. it lists all schools in the US with a cross reference by program of study. wish her luck.

What are California college rankings and how do the colleges choose who to go to which college?
Like the question says, I have absolutely no idea how high school students are chosen to go to which college. I'm really confused how high school grades and college works. how do high school and college administration work?

Answer 1 :
Best universities in California are Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. They pick you based on 1. GPA (grades) 2. SAT (test score for college) 3. Extra curriculars (volunteer work and what you do outside of college) 4. Recommendation letters
Answer 2 :
Checkout www.collegeboard.com and www.princetonreview.com first. Then speak with a counselor at your high school. Then get back to us with any questions you have after that.

I was wondering how to gain residency from being an out of state student going to college in california

I was wondering how to gain residency from being an out of state student going to college in california?
I heard that there were different ways that states work in the residency and I found out that over here, you cannot be a student while gaining your residency at the same time. I was wondering if any one that is an out of state college student thats now attending a college in California could answer this question. I was concerned because I don't want to have to pay the out of state college fee for all semesters.

Answer 1 :
Twelve months for residency.
Answer 2 :
It really depends on the university, but many times you have to wait at least 1 year from when you started school. So if you started school in September, you'd have to wait for the following September to be considered for residency. It doesn't always have to be granted either. Also, you'll need to establish that you will be living in California for a while, so you'll need to get either a CA driver's license, a bank account, or something else that the school states. Check with your university, they'll be able to tell you what they consider residency. The school is pretty much the ultimate authority.

One of my parents live in California is it possible for me to apply there for college as a resident?
I live in the state of florida with my dad and my mom lives in california and i was wondering if i had to be a registered student in the state of california to apply as an in-state college student. This is my senior year and I'd really rather go to college in California rather than in Florida

Answer 1 :
That's a good question. I wonder if it makes a difference whether or not you're 18 yet. If you're still a minor, maybe you can do it under her residency. Check with any college in California.
Answer 2 :
yes but change your address to your mom's house
Answer 3 :
All the schools I am familiar with follow a simple rule when dealing with incoming freshman, if you present a high school transcript from out of state you are automatically an out of state resident and pay out of state tuition. It's your responsibility to prove otherwise. Check the fine print about residency at the school you want to attend. Usually they are very specific, but you may need to call to get an exact answer. Good for you for checking into this early!! Good Luck.
Answer 4 :
Unlikely. If you were on your Dad's Florida tax return, (or if you filed one there), then you cannot be considered a California resident. If no tax return was filed, and for example, your driver's license is CA, not FL, then you can show these documents to apply for the out of state tuition waiver.
