Answer 1 :
See your high school guidance counselor to determine what local scholarships are available. Sometimes there are small scholarships that are not well known. Call the Financial Aid office at FIDM for their advice on possible scholarships. The basis for financial aid is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) The FAFSA is available on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. You should go ahead and fill that out. Your college will need that before they can assess your need. The FAFSA determines how much your family should be expected to contribute to your tuition based on family income and size. The college will then determine how much financial assistance you qualify for through grants, loans, and student work-study programs. Only get a loan as a last resort. Be persistent. Talk to as many people as you can. Get everything done as quickly as possible. It's hard to tell what will have to be done first and it's best to be prepared.
Answer 2 :
It sounds as if you've already checked with FIDM regarding possible scholarship info. If you haven't don't assume there isn't anything available. They may have some leads for you. Another great source to check out is: http://www.schools2colleges.com/school-grants.php

What college in California can I attend to get a degree to teach High school

What college in California can I attend to get a degree to teach High school?
I want to be a history/social studies teacher. I want to teach High school students, but which public, four year universities in California cater to the degree I am seeking? In other words, what colleges can I go to in California that will let me become a HS History teacher?

Answer 1 :
i don't understand--you want to do catering?
Answer 2 :
You can go pretty much anywhere. What you want is a program that will allow you to get a teaching certiciate and a BA in history at the same time and that's most schools. An examples (there are many more out there): http://historyweb.ucsd.edu/pages/undergraduate/Current/ungrad_currcareer.html#teaching

Answer 1 :
The out of state tuition is going to be a killer. University of California and California State University systems are subsidised by California taxpayers. So if you come here, you're going to pay the full rate. Sure, you can get a loan, but remember, you have to pay it back! It's going to be a financial hardship.
Answer 2 :
Out of state tuition will cost you more than twice what a California resident or illegal alien will pay. With California's budget problems the state supported Colleges and Universities have already raised tuition rates twice this year, registration of new students has been reduced, and some forms of financial aid has been completely eliminated. However, as an out of state student you stand a good chance of being accepted because they want that expensive tuition you will pay.. Good luck, and bring lots of money with you.
Answer 3 :
from New York to CSULB? really??? the other two answers are correct, out of state tuition fees are a killer! CSULB is ok....if you're already here in CA! but not worth it if you'll have to pay double the fees. Even if you go to another university here in CA, you still have to pay out of state fees. Try looking into private universities, it might even be more expensive but they have more available in scholarships. Good luck!

Answer 1 :
The answer to ALL your questions is Illinois.
Answer 2 :
If you are a resident of Illinois, it's cheaper to go to school in IL If you are a resident of California, it's cheaper to go to school in CA If you are not a resident of IL or CA, it's cheapter to go to school in IL. Illinois has a cheaper state tax. It's better to go to school in California.
Answer 3 :
Choosing a college should not be based on the state sales tax. It should be based on the reputation of the college for your field of study because that's how you present your resumé to get a good job. California has a state sales tax of between 8 1/4% to 10% depending on which county you are in.
