Where should I go to college, California or Florida

Where should I go to college, California or Florida?
So I ask this question again, because the first time around everyone but one person said Florida. So then I posted another question asking specifically what colleges in Florida are good, and I got a comment saying that colleges in California are way better, although more expensive but it's pretty much worth it. So, California or Florida? I'm not sure about the prices, but apparently CA costs a hell of a lot more. And yes I'm aware it costs alot more to go out of state for college.

Im looking for colleges as an out of state student too and well in my opinion i would choose florida. Well the universities in California are really good but somewhat very expensive considering the hight cost of living. I recommend you doing a research on some colleges u might be interested in those states and compare them financially and academically..go to collegeboard.com and look for the colleges there. good luck!
Answer 3 :

Answer 4 :
There are two things I would suggest looking at. One. What major you might do and which state is more likely to have that program or a better program. Two. There is a huge difference in attitudes between California and Florida. Anyone who has been to the East and West coasts knows there is a big difference in how people act. I would suggest visiting schools and deciding that way. If I didn't visit schools, I probably would have transferred about a dozen times. I hated my first choice because of the people.

I think it depends on what you want to study and what you'd be comfortable around. I like to check out Princtonreview to see what people have to say about schools. After you've figured out what schools are good academically, check out the politics of the schools and the environments around them- are you more comfortable in urban or suburban settings? Would a super liberal or super conservative school or environment be uncomfortable for you? I went to school in Cali and really liked it, but it's where I'm from. You might also want to check out the weather in the areas you're looking at. California varies quite a bit from North to South. I don't know about Florida.
Answer 6 :
You might want to ask your parents to see how much they are willing to spend on college. California does have better colleges, such as Pepperdine University, Stanford University, University of Southern California, or UC Berkeley. They are definitely more expensive, because the best California colleges are private. Also, if you are interested in liberal arts colleges, then California is definitely the place for you. Many people pick California for college because the weather is nice, but also, the people there are very diverse. You should go to college in California, in my opinion. But, it ultimately comes down to what you plan to do as a career, tuition, and location.
Answer 7 :
I think colleges/universities in California are much better.
Answer 8 :
Florida... Check out the University of Florida, Miami University (private), and University of Central Florida.... they are top notch schools that have excellent academics (as well at athletics, everyone knows the Gators down here) and are well respected. Florida is one of the cheapest states to go to college in and you can't beat the weather (though, i suppose in souther CA that would be true too). Schools in California aren't "way better", i suppose they would probably be about equal. I have heard that in some parts of Cali it is very hard getting a job because you are competing with all of the actors/actresses/musician wannabees there. LOL Overall, i would suggest you apply to some in both. You don't know where you'll be accepted. Also, if you are still undecided why don't you try to think about where you want to be AFTER college, and then pick a school near there. Good luck!
