Does anyone know of a great college in California that specializes in psychology

Does anyone know of a great college in California that specializes in psychology?
Yes, I would prefer California. And I know there's some Argosy schools but I haven't heard good things about them. So please help me find a good college! :)

Answer 1 :
Stanford has one of the top psychology programs in the country, Berkeley and UCLA are very good, and you can really study it anywhere - it's the grad school you attend that really matters, and you don't go to the same school for undergrad and grad school.

Bringing a car into California for college, but resident of different state

Bringing a car into California for college, but resident of different state?
I am buying a car in Florida, but I am attending USC for college. I am not a resident of California, I am a resident of Florida. Do the laws concerning car emissions still apply to me?

Answer 1 :
If you register the car in Florida you would need to comply with Florida's emissions laws. You'll be living in California for four years, and at some point you will probably be required to register it in California which means complying with our emissions laws. California law states that if you are paying the California resident tuition at any UC school you have established residency, and you MUST register your car in California within 20 days, but USC is a private school, so I'm not certain how that works. Have I thoroughly confused you yet?
Answer 2 :
Full time College students attending school away from home may use their home of record (Florida, for you) for their car registrations. You don't need to worry about complying with Ca. emissions
Answer 3 :
You will be living in California so you have to go by California laws. Check the DMV website for requirements in smogging, registration, plates, drivers licenses, etc. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/

Can i use Byu independent study while I'm in a California college

Can i use Byu independent study while I'm in a California college?
I am currently attending a California community college, but i'm told that the only way the Byu stuff will count is if they are WASC accredited. I know they have the WASC accreditation equivalent, but i'm still not sure if that's enough. has anyone else used it while in a California college?

Ultimately, the college decides if they will accept the credits. You need to discuss this with your advisor.

Who has the best health insurance in California for college students

Who has the best health insurance in California for college students?
I am a full time college student, and I am looking for health care insurance, but I'm not for sure which to go for. I was looking up Blue Shield of California, Health net, and Kaiser, but I'm new to this.

Answer 1 :
I'm not a big fan of HMO's, such as Kaiser, where you have a gate keeper system in place. A gatekeeper system is where you have your personal care physician "PCP" and you have to go through that doctor to get anywhere else (such as OB/GYN, cardiologist, etc.). I do like PPO or POS plans (Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Health Net), AETNA) as I can choose my own physician and I don't usually have to go through them to get a consult with another specialist. When choosing an insurance company at any point in your life, you need to know what you can afford and what your needs are. Find out exactly what each plan covers and doesn't cover, how high of a deductible (the amount out of pocket you will have to pay before your insurance kicks in), what your co-pay will be (flat fee or a percentage of the office visit) and if vision, dental and psychiatric care is covered. An insurance broker may be able to assist you with finding the best coverage for you as well as explain the benefits of each policy. You may also want to make a trip to your school's health department. Some schools offer a low cost health insurance plan or can refer you to a reliable broker. Depending on your age and if your parents are a part of your live, you may want to check with them. If they have insurance through work, you may be able to get coverage under their plan as you are a full time college student. Good luck!
Answer 2 :
I have owned this plan for over 4 years. My sons, 25 in college is included, other son, 22 also included, under $45 a month with numerous extra benefits and easily say it is the best without pre-qualifying yet complete pre-existing conditions included. I am a cancer survivor 1996, yet fully covered no matter what. My mom, 78, is also on my plan and it saves her over $200 a month on her medications. She does not NEED medicare when she has this plan.
